Your lifestyle reflects your beliefs, values, customs, behavior, and attitudes. Lifestyle can bring joy, help us be more successful, and keep us healthy. It can lead to illness and hinder us from achieving the things we want.

We have the power to choose actions and habits that make us happy, healthy, and succeed. That choice is available to us every day.

Maltbie Babcock put it very well when she wrote: “A day dawns, just like other days; in this hour, quite unlike other hours; but within that day and that hour, the chance for a lifetime confronts us.

This opportunity presents a challenge. It is difficult to let go of a familiar lifestyle, even if it causes you to have negative or intolerant habits. Doug Firebaugh wisely stated, “Something has to die in order for something to grow.” Your old habits, self-image, thinking, and life style must all be removed to allow success seeds to germinate.

While people want to escape the negative consequences of their vices but not necessarily their vices, they also want to be free from them. Many people try to make drastic changes that are impossible to achieve. Some people try to change too many things simultaneously. It is easy to fall back into old habits.

If it is too difficult to take on new actions on a regular basis, then it is unlikely that it will be a feasible change. For lasting change, small changes that are made more frequently can lead to greater success. Start with one action that you can make a habit of. Next, look for tangible results.

The following questions will help you to reflect on your ideal lifestyle if you don’t already have one. Write down your answers in a journal. This will allow you to create a picture of your ideal life. This exercise will help you create a plan for creating the lifestyle you desire.
